Mazatlan, Mexico to Mexico City, Mexico
mexico.jpg Kim and Linda off Endeavour graciously gave Jo-Ann and me a 45 minute ride to the Mazatlan airport at 2:00 PM. It was an easy check in and the take off was a no thrills shot to the sky. After a quick view of Concordia we had clear skies all the way up until our decent into Mexico City. It was now raining and without a reservation for the overnight lay over; I knew it was not going to be fun. Now 7:15 PM and near dark, a sales agent for the local hotels greeted us with a whopping 200.00 USD a night room. Yeah, that’s going to happen, NOT!

We started walking aimlessly around looking for an “in budget” room close to the airport. Well, this gonna be easy idea turned into a very long walk. I have no idea how far it was, but it took a few hours strolling through the streets of Mexico City in the rain before we finally found a place. At 10 PM we checked into the Kennedy Hotel for 210 pesos. Not bad, but we didn’t know we had the special suite with those special stations on the TV.

I left Jo-Ann in the room while I took off to the streets looking for food. I finally found a pizza joint and paid way too much, but it was food. It’s 11:30 PM now and time for bed because we need to be up at 4 AM to make our way back to the airport to catch the next flight out of dodge. Also Jo-Ann needs to rest because she over packed and was in a bit of pain from carrying the backpack for so long. We did change backpacks for a bit but the damage was already done. I warned her!
